What does Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County do?

Our mission is to provide new and quality used clothing free if charge to school-age students from low-income or in-crisis families in Fairfield County, Connecticut. CTKF is not a consignment store. We distribute all of the items that are donated to eligible kids in the community for free.

How do families find out about you?

Families find out about CTKF through schools, human service providers, and other community advocates in Fairfield County. Please review our Shop With Us page for more information.

What are your hours of operation?

The CTKF store is open by appointment only. Visit our Contact Us page store hours and more information.

What are your most needed clothing items?

The new clothing items that we provide are always are always our greatest need. These include new underwear, socks, and sports bras, and new footwear (such as sneakers). See our full list of accepted clothing and shoes.

Who receives the clothing?

Children of low-income families (including homeless, recent immigrant and refugee) as well as at-risk youth (children in crisis or foster care) are eligible to receive clothing. Our shoppers range in grades kindergarten through 12th grade.  CTKF also serves individuals pursuing a GED. Please review our eligibility guidelines for more information. **Please Note: Children under the age of 4 are not eligible.

Where does your clothing come from?

Most of our clothing is donated from local families who have children that have outgrown their clothes.

How do I become a financial supporter?

All of the funding for CTKF comes from individuals, corporations, churches, civic and fraternal organizations and foundations. We receive no federal or state funding. We gratefully accept all financial gifts. We are a nonprofit organization and all contributions made to our organization are tax deductible.

Do you accept volunteers?

We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available. Adult volunteers are always needed, especially during times when the store is open to serve shoppers. Youth volunteers are needed to help process clothing donations at the store.  **Please Note: We do not accept volunteers in need of court-ordered community service hours.
