Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County envisions a community in which every school age child has quality clothing so they may attend school with the confidence and self-esteem needed to achieve academic success. Our unique approach is a boutique-style setting where children work with a personal shopper to choose the clothing they like best! Each eligible child in grades K-12 can shop twice a year for a full week’s wardrobe of school clothing.

Our History
Clothes To Kids was founded in 2002 by Jode Eye and Marie McClung in Pinellas County, Florida. Through their volunteer work with students, they recognized that children without adequate clothing often felt embarrassed and unprepared in school. Research shows that many children that come to school without adequate clothing and shoes experience low self-esteem, poor social skills and lack of concentration in school.
Clothes To Kids captured Elaine Rubinson’s heart and interest when she attended their March 2015 fundraiser in St. Petersburg, Florida. Elaine was motivated by their mission statement and intrigued by the creativity used to implement their mission. How wonderful, she thought, for kids to shop with dignity at a scheduled time, and not feel as if they were receiving charity. With the help of the new Board and dedicated volunteers, Elaine was able to make her passion a reality and start a new CTK affiliate in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County was incorporated in Fall 2015.
