Cabaret, The Fundraiser! A huge success!

We had a great turnout for our first in-person fundraising event in over three years!  It was a fun evening where friends old and new came together to enjoy an evening of food, bidding and theater, and raise much-needed funds to support the ongoing mission of Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County to serve children in need.

Despite rainy weather more than 120 people showed up for the event on Thursday, October 13, 2022, and many others participated through online bidding in our silent auction and giving to our Donate a Wardrobe drive. Cabaret was a huge success, raising over $36,000 for Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County!

We are enormously grateful to Curtain Call for hosting our event and putting on a fantastic performance of Cabaret, and to all the sponsors and local businesses who generously provided financial support and donated items for our silent auction and prize drawings.

And most of all, we are grateful to all of our generous donors who attended the event, bid on auction items and made donations. Your support and encouragement make it possible for Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County to continue helping families in need in Fairfield County.

Once again, our deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported the event in any and all ways!

A fabulous evening was had by all

Fairfield County Giving Day is 2/24/22

Mark your calendars Fairfield County Giving Day 2022 is happening on February 24. This 24-hour giving marathon encourages community members to support their favorite local non-profits. Individuals and businesses come together to make an impact by donating to organizations that serve the community.

Families in Fairfield County have been suffering from the effects of the pandemic, and many parents cannot afford new clothing for their children. For safety reasons, CTKF put a pause on in-person shopping appointments during the pandemic, but this certainly did not change the demand. Our clients desperately need our help, and we transitioned to curb-side pick up appointments, to ensure children were getting access to the clothing they needed.
Help us continue to provide clean, gently-used, or new wardrobes for Fairfield County’s children. Whether they need warm winter jackets and accessories, shorts and tank tops for those hot summer days, or back-to-school gear, CTKF has been their one-stop-shop for the past 5 years, all because of your generosity.

The future of Fairfield County, CT, is our kids. Just $25 can help clothe a child in need on Giving Day – a day that is all about a lot of people doing a little bit, to make a HUGE difference!

Team CTKF rocked the 2021 Five Boro Bike Tour

Team CTKF rocked the 2021 Five Boro Bike Tour

On Sunday, August 29, 2021 Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) joined 20,000+ cyclists from around the world for the 43rd annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Team CTKF rode the 2021 TD Five Boro Bike Tour to raise money for kids in need of school clothing in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

The ten members of Team CTKF raised $15,837 for children in great need.

The Five Boro Bike Ride of 2021 was very special. The riders on our team ranged in age from 13 to 82, quite a spread. The ride was for everyone. There was an amazing sense of normalcy and decency. The spectators rooting us on, the singers offering a distraction from any discomfort, the police ensuring a safe ride, and the volunteers providing nourishment to maintain our energy levels. Though the Ride of 2021 was more subdued than those of previous years, for me, this ride was the most memorable.

Memorable because there was a sense that people cared about the welfare of the person next to them. Everyone was aware of others and wore masks. Not on the ride itself, but on the Ferry, despite the Ferry being out in the open. When I fell, people stopped what they were doing to assist me. It felt like a return to normal. It was relaxing and just fun.

We’re moving to a new location this summer!

Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County has a new home. This summer we are relocating to the Lathon Wider Community Center, at 137 Henry Street in Stamford.

We will continue Saturday curbside pickup at the Yerwood Center, through June.  The last curbside pick up at the Yerwood Center will be Saturday, June 26, 2021.

In July we will say goodbye to the Yerwood Center as we move out and set up the CTKF Store at our new space. There will be no curbside pickup in July and our first curbside pickup at the Lathon Wider Community Center will be on August 14. We will continue with our curbside pickup system and slowly moving toward reopening the store for in-person client shopping in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

Since 2016, it has been our pleasure and honor to welcome families of the Fairfield County communities to our bright and cheery location at the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford Yerwood Center. The CTKF Store at the Yerwood Center was designed to appear just like a retail store, with colorful and friendly signage and décor, to create a fun shopping experience, where the clothing was free of charge. We have many wonderful memories of watching our shoppers leave the store smiling as they carried their extra large bags filled with new wardrobes for the kids.

CTKF is looking forward to serving more families at our great new space!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Obviously there is a lot to do to make this move happen. We will need volunteers at the end of June to help with the packing up of the Yerwood store, and also during the month of July to help set up the new store, unpack and organize clothing, set up the office, and more.
