Clean out your closet with our new clothing donation process

Clothes To Kids gladly accepts quality new and gently used clothing and shoes that are appropriate for kids grades K-12 to wear to school. Clothing donations will continue to be accepted by appointment, but to streamline the process we’ve implemented a new program to collect information about the donation in advance. We’re asking all donors of clothing, shoes, and accessories to complete a new Schedule Your Clothing Donation form.

Two needs, one form

This new form accomplishes two goals. First, we’ll know in advance what types of items will be coming in to the store. Are they new or gently used items? What are the season and gender categories? This information allows us to devote our limited and precious volunteer time to sorting and packing clothing that’s needed immediately. Second, by collecting donor contact information in advance, we’ve simplified the confirmation process when the items are dropped off. No paper forms will need to be filled out. Donors will get a thank you email which doubles as their tax receipt.

Ready to donate?

Take a look at our Donate Clothing page for everything you’ll need to know about items we accept, items we do not accept, and guidelines for how to package up your donation. Following these guidelines will mean the world to us. Thank you!

Back-to-school shopping success!

Our special week of back-to-school shopping was a tremendous success! Thanks to our amazing volunteers, we supported 64 families and 107 children! After taking a summer break to restock, the CTKF Store reopened on September 2. We were fully-booked with extra appointments to help as many families as possible during our first week back.

In just five days, we distributed:

  • 600 tops
  • 500 socks
  • 500 undies
  • 400 pants
  • 100+ sneakers
  • 100+ winter jackets

We’re thrilled with the impact, and now it’s time to restock again!

Clothes To Kids moves to DOMUS building in Stamford

The Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County store has temporarily moved to the DOMUS Building at 83 Lockwood Avenue, Stamford CT. PARKING LOT and STORE ENTRANCE at 15 FRANK STREET. Families can submit paperwork now, and appointments to shop will begin in April at the new location.

The move was necessary when the Lathon Wider Community Center (LWCC) closed unexpectedly in January for repairs to the building infrastructure. At this time, we do not know when the LWCC will reopen.

Monetary donations are essential during this period of transition. Please consider donating.
