Clothes To Kids Corner | Summer 2022 Newsletter

Lots of great stuff happening this summer into fall as we gear up for back to school.

Top of the list, the CTKF Store will re-open for in person shopping in September! Kids… parents…guardians…get ready for a fun shopping experience with your very own personal shopper! Kids can once again shop for a wardrobe of school clothing and pick the items that they like best! We’ve been busy all summer organizing, sorting, and stocking the shelves to get ready.

Next up, CTKF is hosting our first in-person fundraising event since 2018. Tickets are on sale now for Cabaret, The Fundraiser. Join us on October 13, 2021 for a fun evening of food, cocktails, silent auction, and raising awareness about kids in need of quality school clothing, followed by a private performance of “Cabaret” by the Curtain Call Theatre Company.

And more, please check out the full Summer 2022 newsletter!

Volunteers were busy July and August sorting clothes and getting the store ready for students and their families to shop in-person this fall.

Team CTKF rocked the 2021 Five Boro Bike Tour

On Sunday, August 29, 2021 Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) joined 20,000+ cyclists from around the world for the 43rd annual TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Team CTKF rode the 2021 TD Five Boro Bike Tour to raise money for kids in need of school clothing in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

The ten members of Team CTKF raised $15,837 for children in great need.

The Five Boro Bike Ride of 2021 was very special. The riders on our team ranged in age from 13 to 82, quite a spread. The ride was for everyone. There was an amazing sense of normalcy and decency. The spectators rooting us on, the singers offering a distraction from any discomfort, the police ensuring a safe ride, and the volunteers providing nourishment to maintain our energy levels. Though the Ride of 2021 was more subdued than those of previous years, for me, this ride was the most memorable.

Memorable because there was a sense that people cared about the welfare of the person next to them. Everyone was aware of others and wore masks. Not on the ride itself, but on the Ferry, despite the Ferry being out in the open. When I fell, people stopped what they were doing to assist me. It felt like a return to normal. It was relaxing and just fun.
